Hi my name is Jim and I have been a qualified Driving Instructor for over 8 years the last 5 with SmartDrive.
I am a Green Badge holder achieving Grade 5. I also hold a Fleet Badge for corporate coaching and am qualified to take Pass Plus.

I am happily married with children and grandchildren and live in the Leagrave area of Luton. I was born in Hitchin and educated in Letchworth followed by Technical College in North Herts and Luton achieving Part III City & Guilds in Engineering.

Prior to becoming a Driving Instructor I worked in the Engineering sector as a Technical Manager for a Swiss company based in Tring. Reviewing my working life at that time I decided on a career change and Driving Instruction became a viable venture.

In my free time I enjoy my family and friends with weekends full of visiting, meals out and following my other passion Luton Town F.C. Plenty of ups and downs there!

I thoroughly enjoy my work and love the Mini which all Smartdrive instructors use for training and pleasure. My pupils also love the Mini and find it smooth and easy to drive. Several of my pupils bought Minis once they passed their tests.
